Gel Polish: Pretty in Pastels

My customer showed me this picture below and wanted something similar for herself!

We modified the colors slightly, and did marbling on her thumbs as per her request!

The overall look is very sweet, and very office-friendly too!

Flowers for Audrey

Regine asked for a last minute slot as she wanted pretty nails for National Day! I don't encourage asking for slots that are not listed for booking, unless you're a regular and I happen to have free time on my hand!

This is an old design, but I haven't been doing floral nails for a while, and I do miss doing them!

I used China Glaze For Audrey as the base color and the flowers were done using acrylic colors. Regine sweetly passed me invites for a Maybelline event too, and thanks to her, I did have a fun time with my friend at the event..... The long queue is another story......

Gel Polish: Ruffles & Laces

Esther requested for this set that Ying from Nail Art Express did on her July Nail Wheel

The design is the set of laces and ruffles on the bottom left of the collage above. My heart sank a little when I knew about it, because I didn't practice beforehand, and it's a lot of intricate details! I was super worried that I couldn't do a good enough job as well..... But I bit the bullet and went with it!

Esther only wanted the designs on three of her fingers on each hand, and the rest of the fingers to be kept simple. This is my take on it. She chose 3 pastel colors from the Angel Pro Gelly Polish range, and I mixed them up as such.

Looking at the pictures now, I definitely have to work on making the ruffles more realistic!! The plain nails seem, pretty plain as well now that I look at them too ):

One last picture! Art was done with black and white acrylic paint, while the colors used are Angel Pro Gelly Polishes #12 (purple), #14 (grey), #39 (pink).

Gel Polish: mint x aztex

Jacqueline showed me a couple of pictures of how she wants her nails to be like, and decided to keep it simple with black, white, teal and mint.

Instead of overly-complicated aztec designs on all nails, I played with the colors and ended up with this set!

I especially like the design on the thumbs, very cute with the colors!

Colors used:
Artistic Color Gloss Tease
Artistic Color Gloss With it
Gelish Sheek White

Ribbon X Polka Dots

Irene showed me this picture and wanted something similar!

After some discussion, we decided to omit the embossed ribbon, and went with China Glaze Fairy dust as the base for a shimmery effect!

I whipped out the super realistic stickers and Irene decided to have them on the thumbs! I added in a simple ribbon on both the middle fingers too.

The overall effect is very sweet and cute, and Irene is such a perfect customer as well! Being on time and doing ample research before the appointment! Hope to see you again soon :D

Aztec attack!

This set was done during one of the flea days at Scape! The crowd at Scape is relatively young, so they tend to hear towards such designs!

I'm sure the design is not foreign, I have done it before but in different colors. This particular set was done with pastel colors, giving it a different look from before!

Gel Polish: Sheep in love

Delcine requested for a set of nails with sheep art as well as pink base. This is her first time doing gel polish manicure as well!

This is based on an old design from Nail Art Express. All art was done with AngelPro Gelly polish, with some mixing here and there.

However I forgot to factor both hands, and it appears the sheep on both thumbs hate each other as they're back facing each other, oops! What a silly mistake ):

Aztec for you?

I have been getting requests for Aztec designs, a bit puzzling as I thought the trend is slowly passing! But nonetheless, I'm happy for the chances as it allows me to push my creativity juices harder and come up with a different look every time!

This time, I decided to have a white base, and picked blue, black and coral red for the art itself!

I like this set a lot, it's different from the other sets I have done before. You may have seen some of the art before; I have tried to mix and match and modify designs that I have seen before to come up with this set.

Gel Polish: A Pink Affair

This is my first time doing gel polish services on toes, and it's very different from a normal classic pedi. One very major difference is no soaking of the feet, and the toes have to be as parallel to the ground as possible to prevent overflowing of the gel polish back into the cuticles!

But gel polish pedicure is a very convenient service as you can wear your shoes immediately after without worrying that the polish isn't dry as will smudge!

This is based on a design that Serena has chosen. The main color scheme is white, pink, red, with a mixture of dots and fences. Then, Ying added the embossed ribbons on each of the big toes as a really sweet and cute finishing touch.

The whole look is very chirpy and happy!

Gel Polish: Bonjour France

This time round, the main concept and color scheme was customized by Ying while I was preparing Doris' nails! Doris mentioned she wants a colorful set and holiday theme, and finally decided to go with the stickers!

This set is done with stickers, with the phrase "Bon Appetit" hand-drawn on the thumb. I thought it looked really cute with the macaroons!

I had fun doing this set, choosing the stickers! They're super thin and realistic looking, and I don't think it will be very possible for me to draw such delicate and fine details, so yay to stickers!

Union Jack Fever

With the Olympics ongoing now, there are tons of requests for Olympics-inspired nail art!

This customer decided to have the flag of Great Britain on all her nails, otherwise known as Union Jack to others. We went for a lighter shade of blue and red, to create another look altogether.

Her nails are quite small, and they ended up looking very cute!

Hearts of Flowers

Jenny came by, wanting to have a quick fix of manicure before going for her 2 weeks holiday! She decided to go for this set of nails that Cynful Nails had done a few weeks ago!

As Jenny's previous set of nails were done in pink, she decided to go for blue instead for a change!

Aztec Fever

It seems like Aztec prints are here to stay for a while; on clothes, bags, and now nail art too!

Ruby dropped by and told me she wants a set of nails with Aztec prints! This is the picture she gave me as reference.

I tried following some of the patterns, and free-styled some to provide a mix. Instead of a white base, I went with a softer and more subtle look. I did the base with O.P.I Passion, a soft nude color, and painted the patterns with acrylic colors, sticking to a pastel theme.

Gel Polish: Dots, laced up!

Wendy came with a design in mind! She liked the pastel theme design that her friend did before, and requested for a similar design!

I did slant French tips for her, with lace stickers as border. To make the whole look cuter, we added pastel colors dots on the French tips! The whole look is very cute and dainty, not losing elegance at the same time!

Gel Polish: Blinged French

Shandy dropped by to remove her previous gelish manicure, and decided to go for something more classy this time round!

Initially, she wanted to do a simple French gelish manicure, but decided to add glitter gradient on top of the French tips to add a "wow" touch to it!

I mixed in glitter on top as the glitters from Gelish are not as loud and intense, and Shandy wants them bright and shiny!

Of course, the rock on her finger with her nails make her hands look really dazzling!

Gel Polish: Chanel Tweed Inspired Set

This time, I managed to convince the customer to do this Chanel Tweed inspired set! The design is taken from Nail Art Express, with minor changes here and there!

The tweed design is hand drawn, I definitely should make them "messier" to achieve the correct look! Instead of crystals, I used delicate lace stickers as borders. It brings about a different look, more delicate I guess?

As for the thumb, we went with white Chanel logo charms! I think it completes the whole look, very classy!
