Gel Polish: Flower Power

Melissa dropped by and was spoilt for choice after looking at various designs!

In the end, she settled for a design found in one of the nail mag that has funky French nails filled with flowers!
 

We went for colorful floral stickers, and it was fun matching them on her pretty nails! It looks like a flower riot on her nails!

Gel Polish: in Love

This was a request to combine 2 different designs done by Nail Art Express previously as seen below!

I recreated the design with a pale lilac base color from Angelpro, and did a watercolor accent nail with pink and blue. The effect was to be abstract flowers, but due to the color combination, it turned out to be very "watercolor"!

Then I used different floral stickers for the rest of the fingers except the thumb, and framed them with dots!

Cherubs on the thumbs with a heart in a thought bubble above them, and it's done!

I think it's a super dreamy set, and the color makes it suitable for work too, not too loud!

Flowers on Tips

Analise dropped by to remove her previous set of nails (Star Wars themed nails), and decided to go for a more classy look this time round! This set is done with OPI Passion and Alphine Snow for the base and tip, and then we added pretty nail stickers in various colors to create this look! 

I love how the colorful floral stickers add a totally different look to an otherwise plain French manicure! 

Flowers for Audrey

Regine asked for a last minute slot as she wanted pretty nails for National Day! I don't encourage asking for slots that are not listed for booking, unless you're a regular and I happen to have free time on my hand! 

This is an old design, but I haven't been doing floral nails for a while, and I do miss doing them! 

I used China Glaze For Audrey as the base color and the flowers were done using acrylic colors. Regine sweetly passed me invites for a Maybelline event too, and thanks to her, I did have a fun time with my friend at the event..... The long queue is another story...... 

Hearts of Flowers

Jenny came by, wanting to have a quick fix of manicure before going for her 2 weeks holiday! She decided to go for this set of nails that Cynful Nails had done a few weeks ago!

As Jenny's previous set of nails were done in pink, she decided to go for blue instead for a change!

CNY Day 5

It was a super packed day! But thank goodness most of the customers were early/on time, thus no delay in between! I had last minute cancellation of 2 customers as well, and they did not bother to inform me at all until it was time for their appointment. Very irresponsible because someone else could have booked the slots....

These girls rushed over from their last lesson at school to get their nails done! They pretty much had an idea of what they wanted thus it was fast! 

First up was Elmo and Cookie Monster! Base was Not like the Movies by OPI, and I love this color alot! 

Then the usual floral mix! 

And the ribbons with polka dot mix! In very festive colors if I may say! 

After them, I had a few customers, but I did not manage to capture their manicures ): It was mainly leopard prints with glittery spots and crystals, as well as a Tiffany ribbon nail art for another customer! *Slap myself for not taking photo ugh!*

These were my last customers of the day, a bunch of bubbly students! They had a hard time deciding, and one of them decided to just go ahead first! She decided on black giraffe spots on a hot pink base, and it ended up looking kind of like shatter effect! 

They browsed through my phone for designs, and decided to do aztec prints, with a slight change in the color choice! I actually enjoy doing aztec nail art alot, because there's endless possibilities! 

It was about 10 plus when they left, and then I had a super late lunch/dinner with my friends who popped by! Thanks Yuenyin and Yingying for helping out! (: 

It was a hectic pre-CNY manicure appointments, but I enjoyed myself tremendously!

CNY Day 4

I am on a roll! All these posts are scheduled actually, so that I have new designs for you guys! (And so that Mynt will not judge me for being a bad blogger and not update enough LOL)

First customer of the day was Vanessa, who's actually the older sister of Theresa the day before! She actually did a set of sweet daisy flower set at one of the flea I was at, and this time round, she decided to go for the roses that she couldn't decide between the other time. She opted to have pink and white stripes for her index and ring finger as well, to prevent floral overdose!

Clara came next! She sent me a picture beforehand of a 3D acrylic ribbon on a tuxedo set. However I don't provide 3D, thus we settled for 2D ribbon instead! It turned out to be very sweet looking with the pink and white combo! On the rest of the fingers, we kept it simple and plain with 2 different shades of pink polka dots on white base! 

Jolene came with a friend to do nails! She was very excited before doing actually, but couldn't decide on the design so her friend went first! This customer loves leopard prints and loud colors, and decided to have an accent nail of hot pink Hello Kitty! They joked that it looks like a pirated Hello Kitty made in China....LOL! 

She was a joy to work with, and kept me entertained throughout the whole process! 

After looking at her friend's nails, Jolene decided to get the same set, but change the accent nails to ribbons on a bright orange base! Due to Fengshui, her mother has instructed her not to have blue, purple, and green colors on her nails, thus her leaves ended up to yellow.... Jolene's boyfriend happens to live nearby, and she promised to visit me often to do her nails! I'm glad she was happy with the end results! 

Both of them were a joy to work with, and after a long day, I didn't feel tired because of their constant chatter and jokes. Thanks girls! 

A last minute booking by Ruby's friend, Christine, who got convinced to do her nails after seeing Ruby's. She stays nearby as well, thus had no problem with the late timeslot, phew! She had a hard time deciding, and ended up doing alternate design on her fingers! After looking at the photos, the complex designs make her nails look very cluttered ): I should have advice her to get simpler designs to go with either! 

It was a hectic day, but fun nonetheless with all the ladies being on time and nice and friendly!

CNY Day 3

Oops! Apologies for the lack of posts and updates!

Onto the third day, which is approximately 4 days away from CNY! 

This customer wanted to do Hello Kitty french tips at first, because she's a big HK fan! However she was concerned that her nails are too short, and that the Hello Kitty will not look as outstanding! I suggested for her to do a full face on the thumb for Hello Kitty, and rainbow polka dots on the rest of her fingers! The outcome was really cute! 

Bengyee loves pink alot, and she's also a floral person! We decided on a floral tape design on her thumbs, and floral tips for the rest of her fingers! The outcome was very girl-y, and very suitable for CNY as well at the same time! 

Weiyu actually sent me pictures of some aztec nail designs before this, and we ended up doing a mix of designs for all! We went for a pastel look, and I am most satisfied with the design on the thumb! Aztec is becoming a popular trend, especially among my younger customers! 

My last customer of the day, Theresa, is actually still a student and have lesson the next day! But she decided to do her nails because she wouldn't have time after! She just wanted something quirky, and we decided on a lime base with black moustache on her fingers, and a clock face on her thumb! 

There were 3 other customers that I did not manage to capture their designs, because as usual, I forgot. Not a good excuse I know...... Till the next!

CNY Day 2

Only 2 customers for today as well, not too near CNY yet that's why! These 2 ladies are super cute and nice, I  enjoyed myself doing their nails!

Huiyi, is a Primary School classmate of my friend, and decided to get her nails done by me because of my friend's great advert on Facebook! (Thanks Ruby!) She told me beforehand that she wants floral prints, and that she likes cats alot, and wanted to incorporate them onto her nails. I have never done any cat nail art before, and didn't really have time to research and came up with this. Not my best piece of work, but it is cute enough I hope! 

I decided to do a floral mix on her nails, as well as couple cats on her ring fingers. It turned out cute and look very suitable for Vday as well! This photo was taken from her FB, after she kindly took the photos as I forgot to take for her earlier. (So much for wanting to remember to take photos.....)

Her friend came with a Tumblr pic of leopard print nails, with the thumb having matte prints. I told her honestly that matte nails will not be as lasting and get dirty easily, so she decided to switch to gold glitter spots with a pinkish-nude base! On her thumbs are grey-glittery moustache on a dark velvet red base. She just wanted something not as loud on her thumb to tone it down! Of course, I forgot to take her thumbs, so here are the rest of her fingers! 

Very blings, I hope it will work well with her CNY outfit! 

They are both very sweet customers who allowed me some freedom in choosing the design and colors as such, and making it very easy for me to work on their nails! 

Tomorrow will be a long day with appointments starting as early as 2pm! Shall turn in now, so long! (:

CNY Day 1!

I only have 2 appointments today as I did not want to open slots initially. Normal polish will not last so long until CNY, so I had to warn my customers as well as share some tips with them on how to make normal polish a little bit more lasting.

They are 2 very cute girls who are going into NYP this year! First up, this girl has been wanting to do Elmo on her nails since the flea a dew days ago but couldn't due to me being busy ): She finally got Elmo on her thumbs today, and decided to choose a girly design so as to match her CNY outfits better I guess?

 A lot of girls requested for the ribbon/polka dot mix when I was at NYP as well, I did about 4-5 sets of this nail art over 2 days I guess?

Her friend was debating whether to do, and finally caved in to this very sweet and cute design. She has very very tiny nails, so I had to make everything smaller to better fit her nails! The original base color on my swatch was turquoise-green, and she switched to a pastel yellow instead. I think it looks very sweet like this, and suit her personality in a way from the short period I interacted with her!

Isn't this cute? Her nails are about half of mine and I have not done such small nails with such designs since my cousins as well! It was a bit of a challenge! 

I have a few customers actually cancelling their appointments 1-2 days prior to it. This makes me feel a bit "cheated", because I have rejected other customers due to your appointments. I'm wondering if I should also adopt a deposit method like many others to prevent such unnecessary disruptions to my schedule.... I will see about it!

Time to sleep! I have added some new floral designs, will post about them tomorrow or so! (:
