Gel Polish: Cinnamoroll Love

Olivia sent me pictures of cinnamoroll prior to the appointment, requesting the theme to be on sync to the phone covers! They look so adorable, right?!

Drawing them prove to be a little tough, because of the proportions... I hope they're recognizable!

I used AngelPro Gelly #21 (pink) as the base color on the thumb and ring finger, Gelish Desert Sands and then AngelPro Gelly #47(white) for the scallop tips. Then I lined them with dots, using #72 (pink), #73 (purple) and #75(blue).

Then #143 (dark blue) for the outlines of hearts and ribbons and cinnamoroll! it took a while for the thumbs to be completed due to the layers for drawing...

I like them! How about you?

Gel Polish: My Little Pony - Rainbow Dash & Pinkie Pie

Yvonne mentioned that she couldn't decide between doing aztec designs, little twin star, or my little pony nail art when she booked the appointment.

On the day of appointment, she quickly decided on MLP because she really likes them, and wanted Rainbow Dash, and either Twilight Sparkle or Pinkie Pie! We decided on Pinkie Pie in the end because of the cuter color scheme, and I took reference from a picture that my sister happened to saved on my iPad!

All the art are done with AngelPro Gelly Polishes, and I used a lot of them!

For the Rainbow Dash set, I used #25(blue) for the base color, #9(yellow), #10(green), #17(purple), #35(red), #29(black), #47(white) for the remaining art.

For the Pinkie Pie set, I used #39(light pink) for the base color, #21(pink) for the hair, #23(hot pink) for outlines. #9(yellow), #29(black), #47(white), #25(blue) for the rest of the art.

It's a really cute set, and I'm glad Yvonne liked how it turned out. I took a longer time for the head of Pinkie Pie because of the layers! But overall I was quite pleased with my speed, yay!

Now....who's up for the remaining 3 ponies? :P

my little pony: rainbow dash x fluttershy

Recently, my little pony (the cartoon series) has been gaining much attention and popularity! My cousins love the cartoon a lot, and the theme song is ringing in my head right now!

So I wasn't surprised when my sister wanted me to do a MLP set of nails for her, and she even designed them, taking inspirations from screen caps an nail pictures!

I ha great fun doing this set, cuz it's really colorful and cute!

Friendship is magic!!!

Do you like them? I love this set a lot, and I would totally love to do the other ponies as well....Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Apple Jack, and Twilight Sparkle!

Gel Polish: Little Twin Stars

Chiao Ling dropped by to do her anticipated little twin stars set of nails!

After removing her previous set of gelish, we proceeded with doing the cute characters Kiki and Lala! FYI, they're siblings!

With the pretty pastel colors from Angelpro, I didn't have trouble getting the color scheme right!

Look, aren't they cute?! I should have done the faces a bit rounder, they're a little too squarish.....

If I have time, I will do them on my toes next time!

CNY Day 5

It was a super packed day! But thank goodness most of the customers were early/on time, thus no delay in between! I had last minute cancellation of 2 customers as well, and they did not bother to inform me at all until it was time for their appointment. Very irresponsible because someone else could have booked the slots....

These girls rushed over from their last lesson at school to get their nails done! They pretty much had an idea of what they wanted thus it was fast!

First up was Elmo and Cookie Monster! Base was Not like the Movies by OPI, and I love this color alot!

Then the usual floral mix!

And the ribbons with polka dot mix! In very festive colors if I may say!

After them, I had a few customers, but I did not manage to capture their manicures ): It was mainly leopard prints with glittery spots and crystals, as well as a Tiffany ribbon nail art for another customer! *Slap myself for not taking photo ugh!*

These were my last customers of the day, a bunch of bubbly students! They had a hard time deciding, and one of them decided to just go ahead first! She decided on black giraffe spots on a hot pink base, and it ended up looking kind of like shatter effect!

They browsed through my phone for designs, and decided to do aztec prints, with a slight change in the color choice! I actually enjoy doing aztec nail art alot, because there's endless possibilities!

It was about 10 plus when they left, and then I had a super late lunch/dinner with my friends who popped by! Thanks Yuenyin and Yingying for helping out! (:

It was a hectic pre-CNY manicure appointments, but I enjoyed myself tremendously!

CNY Day 1!

I only have 2 appointments today as I did not want to open slots initially. Normal polish will not last so long until CNY, so I had to warn my customers as well as share some tips with them on how to make normal polish a little bit more lasting.

They are 2 very cute girls who are going into NYP this year! First up, this girl has been wanting to do Elmo on her nails since the flea a dew days ago but couldn't due to me being busy ): She finally got Elmo on her thumbs today, and decided to choose a girly design so as to match her CNY outfits better I guess?

A lot of girls requested for the ribbon/polka dot mix when I was at NYP as well, I did about 4-5 sets of this nail art over 2 days I guess?

A closer look on Elmo! And they're peeking at each other! *This is a song, la-la-la-la, Elmo songgggg*

Her friend was debating whether to do, and finally caved in to this very sweet and cute design. She has very very tiny nails, so I had to make everything smaller to better fit her nails! The original base color on my swatch was turquoise-green, and she switched to a pastel yellow instead. I think it looks very sweet like this, and suit her personality in a way from the short period I interacted with her!

Isn't this cute? Her nails are about half of mine and I have not done such small nails with such designs since my cousins as well! It was a bit of a challenge!

I have a few customers actually cancelling their appointments 1-2 days prior to it. This makes me feel a bit "cheated", because I have rejected other customers due to your appointments. I'm wondering if I should also adopt a deposit method like many others to prevent such unnecessary disruptions to my schedule.... I will see about it!

Time to sleep! I have added some new floral designs, will post about them tomorrow or so! (:
